It was 1969 when, by chance, I entered a photographic studio and that was the moment I began to be interested in taking up photography. Since then a great deal has changed in the world of photography but the spirit and enthusiasm to invent and explore has remained the same. I continue to prefer natural lighting and nature is what gives me the right burst of energy. I love natural backgrounds, the sea and the wind, ancient and modern architecture; surrounded by all these things everything seems simple and spontaneous to me. Of course, in commercial photography, you have to accept some compromises, but each time, in addition to the client's request, I continue in spite of everything to offer with conviction my point of view, which expresses a desire for unusual creativity or just something more natural... At present the support provided by digital technology enables results to be obtained in which creativity and fantasy may be developed and displayed in all directions... almost endlessly...

I began taking photographs 'for fun', before starting to take photographs 'for real', when I enjoyed myself by immortalising Simona (my sister) dressed up in costumes, my collaborator in the creation of photographic characters; by chance I found myself in the photographic studio of Claudio and Paolo in Via S.Petronio Vecchio 13 in Bologna employed as a dogsbody to install the elements of a photographic set for a furniture catalogue; it was the summer of 1978 and that was when it all began. Many years have passed since then with a lot of experiences and I have continued to share new exploits with Paolo, above all in the digital world.
